Responding to over 200 disasters in more than 85 countries, ShelterBox has firmly established itself at the forefront of disaster relief.
The first box deployed in 2000 was sponsored by Rotary, and today it has grown to become the largest Rotary Club Project in the history of the organisation.
We instantly respond to earthquake, volcano, flood, hurricane, cyclone, tsunami or conflict by delivering boxes of aid. Each box supplies an extended family of up to ten people with a tent and other essential lifesaving equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.
The cost of a ShelterBox is $1,500, which includes delivery direct to those who need it. Every box bears its own unique number so that as a donor you can track your box all the way to its recipient.
Highly trained ShelterBox Response Teams or (SRTs) distribute our boxes on the ground, working closely with local organisations, international aid agencies and Rotary clubs worldwide.
ShelterBox New Zealand is supported by individuals and organisations, including Rotary Clubs, community groups, schools, faith groups, businesses and foundations.
